The Fish Museum

This weekend we took a trip to the Shedd Aquarium (a.k.a. "The Fish Museum"). The kids enjoyed viewing all of the different types of fish and aquatic animals in the various exhibits. Many of the exhibits were encased in glass from floor to ceiling, so the kids could walk right up to get a close-up view of the fish. Cooper was so fascinated with the experience and kept repeating "Hi fishies!" I think he would have gotten into the water with the fish if he were given the opportunity. Sophie was mostly interested in the brightly colored "pretty" fish and didn't care much for the sharks or for the ugly, prehistoric-looking paddlefish....yuck! Their most favorite part of Shedd was watching the scuba diver feed the fish in the Caribbean Reef and seeing Nemo and his fishy friends in the new Wild Reef exhibit. Unfortunately, the Oceanarim was closed for construction, so we weren't able to see the dolphins, whales, or penguins....maybe next time! Overall, it was a fun trip and the kids (and adults) had a great time. Here are some pictures from Shedd...
