4th of July and more...

Our 4th of July was pretty dreary and we were stuck inside for most of the day because of the rain. Steve took Sophie to her first movie at the theater (they saw the movie UP) and I hung out and played with Cooper. We didn't think we'd be able to watch fireworks because of the weather, but it eventually stopped raining later on in the evening. So, we kept the kids up WAY past their bedtime to see the fireworks display that was put on by our village. Sophie was more interested in hanging out with her friends and playing with her glowstick, but Cooper was mesmerized by the sights and sounds of the fireworks.

Fortunately, the weather was nice the day prior to the 4th of July and we spent that day at the zoo with some friends/neighbors.

This past weekend, my mom and I took the kids to a local pool/waterpark. It wasn't super hot outside and the water was a bit chilly (lots of goosebumps, shivering, and a purple lips). However, the kids had lots of fun playing and splashing in the water and going down the kiddie waterslide. Grandma C was a trooper and got right in the chilly water with the kids. We even managed to take two trips around the lazy river.

And what a better way to warm up at the pool than with some soft serve ice cream!
