It was blazing hot yesterday (Sunday) and the weather forecast shows that this heatwave will continue throughout the week! It is time to get out the swimwear, sunglasses, and sunscreen...summer is finally on its way! We were outside all day on Sunday enjoying the sunshine and also trying to keep cool and hydrated. We purchased a new inflatable waterslide/pool for the backyard, which the kids got to try out for the first time yesterday. They had a blast sliding, splashing, and playing in the water. The literally played in this for hours! They also played on our neighbors' inflatable waterslide and in their sprinkler. Sophie and Cooper were a bit water-logged by the end of the day! Not only did the kids have a great day, but so did Steve and I. Honestly, one of our favorite ways to spend our weekends is right in our own backyard, playing with the kids, visiting with neighbors, grilling out, and just hanging out and having fun! Unfortunately, our wonderful day didn't end so well because we lost our second co-ed softball game in a row! Hopefully it won't be so hot for our next game and we can score our first win.
